What Happens on Your First Visit
1. History Form - upon arriving at our office, our staff will provide
you with a Patient History form that will help us understand your problem better. If you have been in an
automobile accident, you will be given an automobile accident form.
To save time on your initial visit, you can download our Patient History Form. See above to download and
print these forms.
2. Consultation With Doctor - after your paperwork is complete,
Amanda
or Leah will bring you back to our examination room for a consultation with your doctor. At this time, you
will be able to discuss your problem with the doctor and ask any specific questions you may have. The doctor
will then determine if your condition is one that may be corrected through our Orthospinology care.
3. Chiropractic Examination - the doctor will order various orthopedic
and neurological tests that pertain to your condition. These tests may include range of motion, posture
analysis, and leg length balance.
Infrared Scan - to further evaluate your problem, you will have an Infrared
Scan performed on your spine. This is a completely painless procedure that identifies areas of inflammation
and/or irritated nerves in the body.
This scan will produce a print-out that you will be given on your 1st visit.
4. X-rays & Analysis - specific cervical x-rays will be taken, generally 1
from the side, the front, and the top of the neck to create a 3 dimensional view of the spine. Depending on
your particular condition, x-rays of other areas may be taken as well.
After your x-rays are developed, your doctor will analyze them to determine if any spinal misalignment is
present. If so, the Orthospinology analysis will measure the exact degree of imbalance, as well as calculate
a formula to correct the misalignment.
5. Report of Findings & 1st Adjustment - your doctor will explain his
examination and x-ray findings, as well as his expectations for your recovery.
You will be adjusted using the Orthospinology technique with either of 2 instruments: the Laney Torque-Specific
instrument or the Orthospinology Hand-Held instrument. There is no twisting or cracking involved with either
of these adjusting instruments.
6. Post Adjustment X-rays - after your spinal correction, 2 post x-rays
will be taken to verify that we have improved your spinal alignment.
