Hi-Tech Chiropractic Diagnostics
Dr. Wayne Neal
What
is Computerized Paraspinal Thermal Imaging?
Computerized Paraspinal Thermal Imaging is the cutting
edge of chiropractic technology. Since the health of the nervous system can
determine the health of the body, it is important to determine how the nervous
system is functioning. This diagnostic test is used to evaluate the nervous
system by measuring the infrared heat emitted from the body’s surface. This is
why the test is also known as the Infrared
Scan.
Do you remember having your temperature taken when
you were sick as a child? Your parents could tell how sick you were based on
your temperature. The Infrared Scan is based on the same principle.
The test analyzes the precise surface temperature
along the spine. Differences in the temperature between each side of the spine
are recorded. The significance of these temperature differences indicates the
presence of abnormal nervous system function.
Since it does not use radiation, it is a safe and
painless test that can be used on patients of all ages.
Infrared
Scan: How it Works
The Infrared Scan is a test of function rather than structure.
X-rays evaluate the structures of the spine for pathology and misalignments. A
functional test determines how the body is working. Using both tests, we can
find the spinal misalignments and correct them. The test uses two infrared
sensors that are rolled up the spine. The heat readings are recorded and
displayed on the computer screen. The difference in temperature is illustrated
by the following color-coded system: normal is green, mild is yellow, moderate
is orange, and severe is red. A printout
of the results are made and evaluated by the doctor and a copy is given to you.
Do
You Need Chiropractic Care?
The Infrared Scan is one of the best ways
to determine if you need chiropractic care. It only takes a few minutes to
perform and is completely safe and comfortable. If you or someone you know
would like to have your spine evaluated with the Infrared Scan, contact the
office to schedule a consultation. It is chiropractic technology at its best!
